The Cappella Gregoriana within the Jubilate Deo choir specializes in the singing of plainchant - the official music of the Roman Catholic Church - with the intention of reviving the art of unaccompanied plainchant singing in Malta. The Cappella’s repertoire varies from complete mass settings to shorter hymns, psalms and antiphons that are sung regularly both during liturgy as well as during concerts. Through continuous vocal and spiritual training, the members of the Cappella Gregoriana strive to transmit the true spirit and the intrinsic beauty of plainchant to its listeners and, by so doing, are setting an example that is being emulated by others around the Maltese islands.
